Norml News 1995 Autumn
I am putting this issue together with a mixture of great joy and sadness. Joy because NORML is reaching a significant new stage. National HQ has just moved into a building in central Auckland. We have a shop, a huge meeting/conference area as well as proper offices for HQ and the NORML News. This means a lot more people can come along and GET INVOLVED. As far as the NORML News goes, we have gone as far as we can with me doing most of the work and other core NORML people helping out where they can. This issue is the result of a collective effort in a way not done before. With a new team of Anna, Graham, AJ, Tim and the rest this magazine will soon be reaching higher heights for sure.
The sadness is because I personally will not be involved in this next stage of NORML's activity. After this issue I am taking some time to live overseas to pursue certain personal interests. I have loved working with NORML here in Aotearoa, and I will continue to keep in touch via e-mail, as well as the regular column I will be contributing to the magazine. My first instalment will see me covering the Nimbin Hempfest in Australia - reputed to be a veritable garden of delights!
Seeing the NORML crew renovate and set up this office has been an interesting experience. There are so many good people involved in this campaign. The public often only gets to see people like Mike and Warren, who make the TV, while the many, many people who work to help NORML usually labour unseen. My respect goes to all those people, too many to name (you know who I mean).
Before I go, respect and thanks to Mike "NORML Finlayson, friend and colleague, for our association.
